It lies 156 km. south-west of Kathmandu with an area of 932 square kilometres. It was established in 1973 and was later declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984. Tropical deciduous reverie forests, wooded hills and grasslands contain one-fourth of the world's endangered great one-horned rhinos as well as the Royal Bengal tiger, leopards, monkeys, and the splendid gaur bison. More than 440 species of birds are found in this ornithologist's heaven, including the giant hornbill, the rare Bengal florican and the paradise flycatcher.

Chitwan literally means “heart of the jungle”. It is a truly wildlife adventure of a different kind – jungle safaris, bird watching, canoe rides, village tour and jungle walks.

You will be picked up from your hotel in Sauraha Chitwan and head to Chitwan National Park. Enjoy the following activities during your excursion:

Bird watching: The Chitwan National Park is the realm of more than 450 species of birds. Most people consider it as a heaven of the bird world. The best way to explore and study the different bird's activities and behave is to walk with a guide along the riverside of the park.

Dugout canoe ride: Floating down to Rapti River on a dugout canoe is the best way to discover the habitat of crocodiles in the river. It is also a relaxing and better way to watch the different kind of birds and wildlife species, while they are drinking water in the bank of river Rapti.

Visit to Elephant Breeding Centre: Elephant Breeding Center (EBC) was established in 1985 at Chitwan National Park and is the only EBC in Nepal. A breeding center for increasing number of elephants but not having compartment for mating with wild bull. Well trained and appropriate number of staff should be provided and an Elephant Camps Service should be creator. You may not want to miss the opportunity to explore Elephant breeding center where number of elephants are kept for reproducing purpose only.

Visit to sunset point:  Just chill out beside the tranquility of the Rapti River.
